Home Sports No. 14 Women’s Basketball Dominates Pacific Union

by Garrett Suchanek

After winning their game the night before, the No. 14 Concordia women’s basketball team (10-3, 5-3) dismantled the winless Pacific Union Pioneers in a 93-55 victory on Wednesday, Dec. 30.

Concordia used a combination of great defense and efficient offense to jump out to a 13-0 lead to start the game. The rest of the first half continued to be all Concordia as the Bulldogs took a 51-21 lead into the half.

In the second half, the Pioneers struggled to slow down Concordia as the Bulldogs extended their lead to more than 30 points. Concordia had every player score at least three points in the California trip finale.

Concordia had balanced scoring from all 14 players. Junior Erin Vieselmeyer had a career night as she tallied 15 points on 7-of-9 shooting. Freshmen Quinn Wragge was the only other Bulldog to record double-digit points as she finished with 10 points.

The Bulldogs will head back home to host No. 4 Briar Cliff at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 2.
