by Garrett Suchanek

Wednesday afternoon the (RV) Concordia men’s basketball team collected another top 25 win to close out the 2015 calendar year. The Bulldogs (10-4, 4-4) stifled the Keelhaulers’ chances to win by playing their best defense of the year and winning 75-48.

Concordia held the Keelhaulers to 27 percent shooting and forced 16 turnovers on its way to a 27-point win.

In the first half, the Bulldogs sprinted out to an 18-6 lead. Concordia was able to extend its lead to as many as 21 before going into half with a 44-27 lead.

Despite a poor second-half shooting percentage, the Bulldogs had the game blown open by the midway point of the second half with a 65-38 lead. Concordia strolled to a final score of 75-48.

Junior Chandler Folkerts led the Bulldogs with 19 points. Seniors Micah Kohlwey and Jamie Pearson also had double-digit point totals and chipped in 12 points apiece.

Concordia will head home to host No. 12 Briar Cliff at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 2.
