Home Sports No. 8 Concordia Wrestling Crushes Chargers

Tuesday night the No. 8 Concordia wrestling team earned its 12th straight GPAC dual victory by a final score of 33-6 over the Briar Cliff Chargers.

The Bulldogs claimed eight of the 10 matches in their fifth GPAC win of the year. Concordia is now 10-4 overall and 5-0 in GPAC.

Four of the eight wins by Bulldog wrestlers came by virtue of a decision. The other four were by pin falls, tech. fall and a major decision.

Juniors Dmitri Smith, Andrew Schulte and Ceron Francisco and freshman Travian Cooke collected the four wins by decisions.

Juniors Foster Bunce and Ken Burkhardt Jr. both won by pin falls, Bunce in 5:38 and Burkhardt in 3:30.

Senior Jr Lule won by major decision, 9-0, while junior Tommy Bailey won by technical fall, 20-5.

Concordia will take a step aside from conference play with a match against Bethany College in Seward at 6 p.m. on Feb. 3.
