Home Sports Prairie Wolves Edge Bulldogs in Overtime

by Garrett Suchanek

The Concordia Bulldogs women’s soccer team lost to the Nebraska Wesleyan Prairie Wolves 1-0 in Seward on Wednesday, Oct. 14.

The loss dropped the Bulldogs to 8-4-1 overall and 2-3-1 in GPAC.

After a scoreless first half, the Bulldogs applied pressure to the Prairie Wolves’ junior goalie Madi Francis in the second half.

Of the five shots Concordia kicked in the second half, only one was on target, but it was denied by Francis.

The Prairie Wolves scored the game’s only goal in overtime when junior Hallie Schimenti found the back of the net.

Even though Concordia had a 12-7 shot advantage, the Prairie Wolves slid the golden goal by junior goalie Chrissy Lind in the 96th minute.

The Bulldogs look to return to their winning ways when they host Briar Cliff University at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 17.
