Prairie Wolves Run by Bulldogs Men’s Soccer

The Concordia men’s soccer team ran into a roadblock Wednesday night as the Nebraska Wesleyan Prairie Wolves won 3-0 in Seward.
The loss drops the Bulldogs to 6-5-1 overall and 1-3-1 in GPAC.
The Prairie Wolves came out quickly as freshman Jake Kennedy scored a goal in the seventh minute to claim a 1-0 lead.
Kennedy scored his second goal of the night in the 23rd minute to give the Prairie Wolves a 2-0 lead.
The Bulldogs were unable to score before half and trailed 2-0 at the half.
In the second half, Concordia came close to finding the net, but had no such luck.
Instead, the Prairie Wolves increased their lead with a goal by sophomore Brady Blazek to give Nebraska Wesleyan a 3-0 lead.
The three-goal lead held for the rest of the match as the Bulldogs couldn’t get any goals.
The Bulldogs outshot the Prairie Wolves 15-10 for the game and put nine shots on goal, but were denied each time.
Concordia’s goalie, Mark Horsburgh, made two saves on the night despite allowing three goals.
Concordia plays again when the team hosts Briar Cliff University at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 17.
