If you missed Concordia University Nebraska sports this weekend, here is what happened.

The Concordia cross country team competed at the Blazing Tiger Classic in Ashland on Oct. 26. The men finished sixth and the women finished 12th. The men were led by freshman Vaughn Hendrickson who placed 10th overall in the 8k with a time of 24:49.52. Sophomore Trey Robertson finished milliseconds behind Hendrickson to take 11th with a time of 24:49.74.

The women were led by junior Keegan Beisel who placed 56th with a time of 23:30.31. The team next competes at the Great Plains Athletic Conference championships on Nov. 9 once again in Ashland.

The Concordia women’s soccer team had another big win with a 6-0 shutout against the Mount Marty University Lancers on Oct. 26 in Yankton, S.D. Junior Kierstynn Garner had a big day with two goals in the fourth and 75th minutes and assisted every other goal scored.

Fellow juniors Savannah Andrews, Hannah Kile and Sierra Springer found the net as well in the 11th, 50th and 62nd minutes respectively. Freshman Kyana Rios scored in the 57th minute. Senior Angela Banks was the goalie for the day with two saves and no goals allowed. The team is now 10-5-1 overall and 7-3 in the Great Plains Athletic Conference.

The Concordia men’s soccer team also played in Yankton against the Lancers and had a 4-0 shutout on Oct. 26. The first goal was scored by junior Oliver Benson right as the first half ended in the 45th minute. Senior Ryan Wokutch would extend the lead in the 64th minute with an assist from sophomore Ferdi Hagen. Senior D’Andre Williams scored the next in the 72nd minute with an assist from Wokutch. Sophomore Youssef Heggy would score the last goal of the day in the 84th minute with an assist from sophomore Mattis Hollnagel.

Junior Nolan Fuelberth was the goalie for the day with three saves and no goals allowed. The team is now 6-2-8 overall and 5-0-4 in the GPAC. Both soccer teams next have their final regular season game against Midland University on Oct. 30 in Seward.
