The Concordia men’s basketball team struggled to generate consistent offense, dropping a 75–57 loss to Hastings on Wednesday.
The Bulldogs trailed 28–23 at halftime after Hastings packed the paint and limited interior scoring opportunities. Concordia was unable to counter effectively from the perimeter, finishing the night shooting 36.4 percent from the field and four of 29 from three-point range.
Junior Guard Brooks Kissinger led Concordia with 22 points and seven rebounds, accounting for much of the Bulldogs’ offensive production. Senior Zac Kulus added 10 points, while sophomore Dane Jacobsen chipped in seven as Concordia worked to find scoring balance.
Defensively, Concordia showed resilience throughout the contest. The Bulldogs forced 12 turnovers and collected six steals, using second-half pressure and trapping defense to spark a brief run and cut into the deficit. However, missed shots prevented Concordia from sustaining momentum.
Coach Limback emphasized that the Bulldogs must adjust their offense when trying to get second chance buckets and also explained that success in those moments depends on knocking down perimeter shots.
After a tough loss, the Bulldogs move to 13-6 overall and 7-4 in the Great Plains Athletic Conference. They will take a short break and return to the road against Dakota Wesleyan on Jan. 18.
