Home Sports Strong Start for Bulldogs Dance and Cheer

The Bulldog Dance and Cheer teams both started their seasons victorious against the Mount Marty Lancers in the first duals of the 2021 season on Wednesday.  

The Dance team performed during halftime of the Women’s basketball game which was held in Yankton, South Dakota.  The Bulldogs, led by 2020 GPAC Coach of the Year Mandi Maser and captains junior Haleigh Fitzsimmons and senior Michelle Porath, beat the Lancers 61.3 to 52.1 to start the season strong.  

The Bulldog Cheer team kicked off their season by also competing in Yankton South Dakota on Wednesday.  The Cheer team led by coach Mandi Maser and captains junior Josie O’Laughlin and senior Cora Rhode, also won their first dual of the season beating the Lancers 59.2 to 52.5. 

For the first time in 2021, the Bulldog Dance and Cheer teams will host a competition as they welcome Morningside into town on Saturday Jan. 16.  The Dance team will face off head-to-head at the newly named Friedrich Arena at halftime of the Women’s basketball game at around 2:30 p.m. CT.  The Cheer team will be inside the PE Center Gym hosting the Mustangs at around 3:30 p.m. CT.
