Concordia’s women’s basketball team closed its regular season and ended a six-game winning streak with an 81-71 road loss at Hastings on Saturday.

Concordia trailed 43-33 at halftime after being outscored in each of the first two quarters. The Bulldogs were able to keep the game within reach through three quarters but were unable to close the gap late despite their fourth-quarter effort.

Concordia shot 39.7 percent from the field, 23.3 percent from three-point range. The bulldogs recorded 15 assists but were limited by shooting efficiency against Hastings’ defense.

Freshman Ayla Roth led the Bulldogs with 18 points, shooting 6-11 from the field and 3-6 from three-point range. Roth also added five rebounds, four assists, and four steals.

Junior Juliana Jones and junior Raelyn Kelty each scored 11 points. Junior Sammy Leu finished with eight points, and Senior Kristin Vieselmeyer added eight points and four rebounds.

With the loss, the Bulldogs finished the regular season 25-6 overall and 17-5 in the Great Plains Athletic Conference. They will head into the Great Plains Athletic Conference tournament to play against Briar Cliff at home on Wednesday, Feb. 25.
