Home Sports Women’s Soccer Falls to Briar Cliff

Concordia’s women’s soccer team fails to score two games in a row after a loss to Briar Cliff 3-0 on Wednesday. Due to field conditions, the game was moved to Bishop Heelan High School field. 

It was a tough night for the offense as they only had three total shots, two being on goal, while Briar Cliff had 10 shots, six on goal. Concordia’s two shots on goal were by junior Madeline Haugen and sophomore Aliyah Aldama. All three shots came in the first period of the match. 

Briar Cliff scored their first two goals in the first period, with the first being in the 15 minute and then the second right before half in the 43 minute. Coming out of halftime Briar Cliff scored their last goal in the 53 minute. junior goalie Kalie Ward had two saves on the night. The team also had a save of their own. 

The Bulldogs move to 7-6-2, 4-4-2 in the Great Plains Athletic Conference. Concordia only has two games left before the GPAC Quarterfinals. Next up for the Bulldogs is Presentation College on Saturday, Oct. 23. Kickoff is set for 5:30 p.m. inside Bulldog stadium.
