Women’s Tennis Earns First Victory of the Season

Concordia women’s tennis team competed on Friday afternoon against Kansas Wesleyan in the Walz Fieldhouse and picked up their first victory of the season, taking down the Coyotes 7-2.
The Bulldogs are now 1-7 on the season. With the win, they have momentum going into four days of four matches.
In singles play, sophomore Katelinn Wurm and Kayla Smock and juniors Annie Horn and Katie Hertz all picked up victories. Also, freshman Kirsten Wagner won in singles play to push the Bulldogs’ victories to five.
In doubles play, the tandem of Wurm and Smock combined for an 8-2 victory. Sophomore Anna Kenney and freshman Lindee Schultz combined for an 8-3 victory.
The Bulldogs now have a quick turnaround and play Bethel College of Kansas on Saturday inside the Fieldhouse. The first serve is set for noon.
