Saturday morning the Concordia women’s tennis team started its 2016 campaign with a match against Grand View University. The Bulldogs dropped their opening match of the year to the Vikings 3-6.

The Vikings claimed four of the six singles matches and two of three in doubles competition to earn their third win on the year.

Concordia’s only doubles match win came when sophomores Hannah Boe and Amanda VonSeggern defeated Kalkwarf and Alyssa Stanczak 9-8 (7-3). The Bulldog’s two wins in singles matches came from Boe and freshman Kayla Smock.

The Bulldogs will be back in action at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 5 when they travel to Liberty, Missouri, to take on William Jewell College.
