Home Sports Men’s Tennis Dominates in Season Opener

The Concordia men’s tennis team started the 2016 season on a high note by picking up a 6-3 win over Grand View University. The Bulldogs claimed two of the three doubles matches while earning another four wins in singles competition.

In doubles play, Concordia’s teams of freshman Willy Pardos with junior Javier Moreno and freshman Thomas Greef with freshman Gabriel Poling collected a pair of wins. Pardos and Moreno won 8-2, while Greef and Poling won 8-4.

Concordia’s freshmen led the way in singles competition by winning three of the four matches that the Bulldogs claimed. Junior Patricio Esquivel was the only non-freshman to win a singles match.

The Bulldogs will travel to Omaha to take on the University of Nebraska Omaha at 5 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 29.
