Home News BREAKING NEWS: Concordia Extends Spring Break; Will Shift To Online Classes

Concordia University-Nebraska’s administration announced Thursday afternoon that students will have an extended spring break and will be shifting to an online platform for all classes from Mar 23 – Apr 3.

Interim President Russ Sommerfeld notified students at 3:37 pm CT. All actions taken by the university were effective immediately.

Students were originally scheduled to start classes on Mar 16.

Students who find it necessary to either move back into their dorms or access their dorms for any reason following spring break will be able to do so with permission from student life administration. Rebekah Freed, Director of Student Development, sent out an email with information on how to request dorm access for the foreseeable future. Students can also access this information on Concordia’s website.

No cases of the coronavirus have been reported in Seward, but Interim President Russ Sommerfeld and Freed have both encouraged students to take extra precautions to ensure the safety of themselves and their families.

The Sower is currently working with Sommerfeld and other Concordia administration to gain as much information as possible. Stay tuned for future updates.
