The Bulldogs traveled to Hastings College on Mar. 25 to play a doubleheader against the Broncos and won both games with scores of 8-0 in the first game, and 12-3 in the second.

What was supposed to be a home game ended up being a visit to Hastings after lots of rain in Seward, causing bad field conditions at the Plum Creek Ballfields.

Pitching for all five innings of the first game, sophomore Camry Moore had two strikeouts and zero runs on three hits. Moore also had two hits herself. In the bottom of the first inning and batting at the top of the lineup, sophomore Kylee Nixon let the ball fly, gaining her fourth home run this season.

The Bulldogs made their way up in the score, scoring one run in every inning up till the fifth and last inning. Junior Hhana Haro sent a homerun out to center field allowing herself and junior Tori Homolka to bring in two runs for the Bulldogs. Freshman Caitlyn McGarvie made it on base and sophomore Regan Karel hit a homerun to right, center field scoring the final two runs leaving the score at 8-0 to end the game.

In the second game, all was quiet until the bottom of the second inning when the Bulldogs scored nine runs. Karel singled in two runs, junior Janessa Jarvis walked and forced a run at home, Moore singled in two runs and McGarvie had a sacrifice fly ball to bring in one more. Homolka would then step up to the plate and hit a home run to left field bringing in three runs.

Freshman Zoe Flores started the game pitching and had only one run on four total hits and three strikeouts. Freshmen Jerzi Rowe and Brooke Townsend would then each step in to pitch an inning, Townsend finishing the game.

Homolka hit her second homerun of game two into right field and scored two more runs in the bottom of the third inning. Freshman Brena Brown hit a double into center field and later scored on a run batted in by Jarvis. The score sat at 12-3, shutting down the Broncos in five innings.

The Bulldogs will next play a doubleheader on Mar. 27 with the first pitch being thrown at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. They will play against Northwestern College, at home at the Plum Creek Ballfields.
