Home News Bulldogs Track and Field Take Home 11 Wins

The Bulldog Track and Field team took home 11 wins at the conclusion of their indoor invite on Saturday, Feb. 13 as they prepared for the Great Plains Athletic Conference meet. 

The women’s track team showed great athleticism during the invite with eight wins in track and field. Junior Rachel Battershell won the women’s 400 meter dash with a time of 57.19. In the women’s mile, senior Rylee Haecker won again with an ending time of 5:25.71. 

Sophomore Kylahn Heritage continues to win as she took home first in the women’s 1,000 meters with a time of 2:59.96. Junior Sarah Lewis won the women’s 60 meter hurdles by .05 seconds finishing with a time of 8.90. Sophomore Amie Martin won the women’s 3,000 meter run with a finishing time of 10:58.15. 

In the women’s 600 meter run, senior Kennedy Mogul took first place with a time of 1:41.73. Junior Cora Olson won the women’s triple jump with a final jump of 35 feet 1 inch. Sophomore Josie Puelz continues to vault over 13 feet, winning the women’s pole vault for the sixth time in a row clearing 13 feet 1.50 inches. 

The men’s track team finished with three Bulldogs winners in their events. Junior Zach Bennetts won the men’s pole vault clearing 15 feet 8.25 inches. In the men’s 200 meter dash junior Cade Kleckner won with a finishing time of 22.65.  Sophomore Camden Sesna won the men’s 800 meter run with a time of 1:59.72. 

The GPAC indoor track and field championships will take place on Feb. 19 and 20 in Sioux Center, Iowa with field events starting at 2 p.m. on Feb. 19 and 9 a.m. on Feb. 20. A live stream option will be announced in the upcoming weeks for all Bulldog fans to have access to watch.
