Home Sports Concordia Volleyball Takes a Pair in South Dakota

The No. 15 Concordia volleyball team had a successful road trip in South Dakota this weekend. The Bulldogs picked up a pair of conference wins and improved to 23-5 overall and 11-2 in GPAC.

On Friday night, Concordia took on Dakota Wesleyan and had no problem defeating the Tigers. The Bulldogs won in straight sets 25-14, 25-22 and 25-17.

Senior Claire White led the Bulldogs with 10 kills on the night. Sophomore Annie Friesen chipped in nine kills while junior Taylor Workman added seven kills.

On Saturday afternoon, the Bulldogs took the court against Mount Marty College.

The Lancers gave the Bulldogs more fits than the Tigers did, but Concordia prevailed on the road.

Concordia took care of the Lancers in four sets 25-21, 20-25, 25-17 and 25-20.

The Bulldogs used efficient offense and outhit the Lancers .239 to .164 for the match.

Once again, Friesen and White led the team in kills with 12 and 11 respectively.

Junior Alayna Kavanaugh had 39 assists, nine digs and five kills.

The Bulldogs will put their five-game winning streak on the line when they host Doane College at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 28.
