Home Sports Concordia overcomes Viterbo in Labor Day Weekend Rematch

Concordia continued the impressive start to their year with wins over Viterbo University and Presentation College on Friday. The team was led by Sophomore Gabi Nordaker, who racked up 24 kills in the combined six sets that were played.

 

The Bulldogs defeated the V-Hawks of Viterbo in sets scored 25-15, 25-18, and 25-16. Their success continued into their second matchup of the day against the Saints of Presentation College, where the Bulldogs won 25-14, 25-14, and 25-22.

 

Concordia tallied 77 kills and 12 team blocks in the two matchups. Senior Camryn Opfer collected 19 kills of her own across the two games. Junior setter Bree Burtwistle had 57 of the team’s 71 assists on the day. Defensively, Sophomore Rebecca Gebhardt notched 8 digs against Viterbo University and 15 digs against Presentation College.

 

With these two wins Concordia pushes their record for the season to 8-0, and 1-0 in GPAC play. Tomorrow Concordia will play two more games in North Sioux City, South Dakota.
