After suffering their first loss of the 2025 season, the Concordia University women’s soccer team came back strong with a 2-1 victory over Hastings College.

The game was a rematch of the Great Plains Athletic Conference tournament championship match from 2024, in which Hastings ran away 4-0 winners. So Concordia got some payback with the comeback victory.

Hastings struck first with an early goal, but the Bulldogs answered before halftime as senior Kierstynn Garner found the back of the net to even the score.

The game remained tight until the 75th minute, when freshman Charli Preister scored the go-ahead goal, giving Concordia the lead. The Bulldogs outshot Hastings 14-10, showing control and determination throughout the match.

With the win, Concordia moves to 9-1-4 overall and 3-1-2 in GPAC play.

The Bulldogs will take a short break before returning home for Homecoming weekend on Oct. 11 to face Waldorf at 8 p.m.
