The Concordia women’s soccer team celebrated Senior Day with a 3–1 win over Kansas Wesleyan on Saturday, honoring 11 seniors in the program.
Senior Savannah Andrews opened the scoring in the 22nd minute, then added another in the 53rd with a long-range strike for her first two goals of the season. Freshman Charli Priester capped the day with a goal in the 75th minute. The Bulldogs’ defense held strong, giving up only a penalty kick.
This year’s senior class includes Abigail Allen, Niah Kirchner, Andrews, Sierra Springer, Selah Draper, Ashlee Trujillo, Elena Ruiz, Hannah Kile, Shelby Rugg, Kierstynn Garner, and Augustine Abshagen.
Andrews is thankful for her team and how they made senior day special for her and the other seniors.
“I’m just so grateful to be a part of this team,” Andrews said. “They made our day so special and played their hearts out for us seniors. Being able to be a part of a team like ours is something I will cherish forever. They are my best friends, and I truly wouldn’t change it for the world.”
With the victory, Concordia improved to 4–0–2, extending its unbeaten start to the season. The Bulldogs will return to action on Sept. 17 at home against York University.
