The women’s soccer team is ready to open their season with the new semester.

Women’s soccer begins their fall season Aug. 24. It will culminate in December with the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletes National Championship.

“This season, on paper, will be our toughest non-conference schedule,” Head Women’s Soccer Coach Chris Luther said. “This is exciting, it is a step in the right direction to get the team ready to compete at the highest levels of the NAIA.”

The team worked hard over the summer to be ready for the immediate start to their season. Many of the players joined clubs and leagues.

“Our team works with Tod Berner, the athletic department strength and conditioning coach, using workout programs designed specifically for each sport and accessible for the team members through a mobile app,” Luther said.

Luther is confident that the leadership provided by returning players will inspire new ones and produce exciting games he hopes the Concordia community will attend and support.

“We feel like we have a really talented returning group being complemented with a great group of Freshman and transfers,” Luther said. “Look for solid defense, dynamic play, and hopefully…GOALS, GOALS, GOALS!”

Women’s soccer’s first home game of the semester is Sept. 4 at 5:30 p.m. against Friends University.
