The Concordia men’s basketball team fell 80-72 on the road Saturday despite a strong second-half response and an efficient scoring performance from its backcourt.

Concordia trailed 46-31 at halftime following a difficult opening half, but regrouped after the break, scoring 41 points in the second half. The Bulldogs increased offensive tempo and efficiency, cutting into the deficit and keeping the game within reach in the closing minutes, but were unable to complete the comeback.

Junior Brooks Kissinger led Concordia with a game-high 32 points, shooting 13-21 from the field while adding six rebounds. Freshman Jacob Duitsman provided a lift off the bench with 10 points on 4-5 shooting, including two made three-pointers. Junior Jaxon Stueve contributed eight points and three steals, while sophomore Dane Jacobsen and senior Zac Kulus each finished with six points.

Defensively, Concordia recorded seven steals and limited second-chance opportunities by allowing only three offensive rebounds. The Bulldogs committed 10 turnovers, showing improvement after halftime as they worked to create additional possessions.

With the loss, Concordia dropped to 16-10 overall and 10-8 in Great Plains Athletic Conference play. The Bulldogs will look to bounce back in their final regular-season home game against Mount Marty on Wednesday, Feb. 18.
