The Concordia women’s basketball team earned an 83–77 road win Saturday with a balanced performance on both ends of the floor.
Concordia opened the game with a 22–21 edge in the first quarter and carried that momentum into halftime, taking a 41–39 lead at the break. The Bulldogs continued to apply defensive pressure in the third quarter, outscoring their opponent 19-15 to create separation heading into the final period. Concordia matched the pace in the fourth quarter, scoring 23 points to secure the six-point win.
Offensively, Concordia placed five players in double figures. Freshman Ayla Roth led the Bulldogs with 17 points, shooting 5-12 from the field, including three 3-pointers, and going 4-4 at the free-throw line. Senior Kristin Vieselmeyer added 13 points and five rebounds, while junior Raelyn Kelty recorded 12 points and a team-high nine rebounds. Junior Sammy Leu finished with 10 points, and junior Bree Bunting contributed nine points and five assists.
Defense played a key role in the outcome. Concordia forced 26 turnovers and totaled 19 steals, consistently disrupting offensive possessions. The Bulldogs remained disciplined throughout the game, limiting fouling opportunities and allowing only 14 free-throw attempts.
With the win, Concordia improved to 21-5 overall and 16-4 in Great Plains Athletic Conference play. The Bulldogs will return home for their final regular-season home game against Mount Marty on Wednesday, Feb. 18.
