Concordia men’s tennis played on Thursday afternoon at a neutral site in Fremont, as they took on Southwestern College of Kansas and lost 9-0.

Concordia is now 0-4 on the season. Last season, Concordia finished 7-12 overall and fifth in GPAC standings with a 1-4 record in conference play.

South Africa native and sophomore Thomas Greef came close to grinding out a win, winning the first set 6-0 but falling short in the second and third sets. He went 6-0, 6-7 and 8-10 in singles. Greef was the only singles player to go three sets, but the rest of the squad was defeated within two.

In doubles play, Southwestern College swept the Bulldogs to take the series 3-0. All three matches were completed in two sets.

The Bulldogs now have some downtime as they take on Ottawa University on Friday, Feb. 24 at the Abbott Sports Complex in Lincoln. The first serve is set for 4 p.m.
