Student Senate representatives at Tuesday’s meeting approved the Art Club’s design for a temporary mural to be displayed on the four brick walls on the east side of Founders Hall.

The four-segment mural will be painted on sheets of wood and hung on the walls, not painted directly onto the brick. The mural will feature Concordia’s theme verse for the 2023-2024 school year: “You are the salt of the earth” (Matthew 5:13).

Elizabeth Lee, the Senate representative for the Art Club, said the background of the mural will be gray-blue with outlines painted in beige or white.

President Aaron Fosse said that if the project needs Senate funding, the costs will be minimal since the Art Club already has supplies.

Senate officers did not say when the mural is expected to be completed.
