If you missed Concordia University Nebraska sports this weekend, here is what happened.

The Concordia women’s golf team finished their fall season at the Nebraska Intercollegiate on Oct. 4-5 placing fifth with a score of 349-352–701. Junior Maddie Lewis had the lowest card for Concordia hitting 84-84–168 for 19th place. Fellow junior Emery Custer was just two strokes behind at 83-87–170 for 21st place.

The men’s golf team also finished up their fall season at the Nebraska Intercollegiate on Oct. 4-5 placing eighth with a team score of 304-305–609. Senior Jake Hagerbaumer came into day two tied for first place but slipped into a tie for 12th with a final card of 70-78–148. Junior Jake Richmond also finished inside the top 20 tying for 17th with a 76-73–149 scorecard.

The Concordia cross country team came out with a decisive team win at the Briar Cliff University Invite on Oct. 5. Both the women and the men took invite titles with freshman Vaughn Hendrickson winning first in the men’s 8k race with a time of 25:26.64. Sophomore Trey Robertson finished second with a time of 25:29.04. On the women’s side, junior Hannah Beintema finished fifth with a time of 23:31.90. The team competes again on Oct. 12 at the Holiday Inn Express Classic in Sioux Center, Iowa.

Concordia women’s soccer finished with a nail-biting 2-1 comeback against the Dakota Wesleyan University Tigers on Oct. 5 in Mitchell, S.D. Freshman Kyana Rios scored the first goal of the night off a penalty kick in the 73rd minute. Fellow freshman Sierra McElhannon nailed her first collegiate goal to win the game just three minutes later off an assist from junior Elena Ruiz. Senior Angela Banks was the goalie for the game with six saves and one goal allowed.

Concordia men’s soccer also played Dakota Wesleyan up in Mitchell and routed them in a 3-0 shutout. Junior Oliver Benson scored the first goal of the day in the 24th minute. A few minutes later, senior Martin Herrera sent in a second goal with an assist from sophomore Hugo Garrote. Senior Ryan Brown sent in the third goal in the 84th minute with an assist from fellow senior D’Andre Williams. Junior Nolan Fuelberth was the goalie for the game with three saves and no goals allowed.
