The Concordia University golf teams placed in the top half of the rankings at the Nebraska Intercollegiate tournament on Oct. 6 and 7.
The women’s team performed slightly below its expectations, but still finished third out of seven teams, bested only by Doane and Wayne State. The men came in fourth out of eight teams with a 303-301-604.
The women shot 344-323-667 as they saw a dramatic improvement on the second day of action. Senior Emry Custer once again led the team, going 20 over par through the two rounds, 82-80-162 to get sixth. Senior Maddie Lewis was right behind in eighth place and shot 85-79-164.
Sophomore Savannah McFalls saw the largest day one to two difference as she shot 89-78-167, missing out on a medal by one spot as she got eleventh. Freshman Olivia James rounded out the top four with a nineteenth-place result, shooting 88-89-177.
The men were headlined by freshman Calvin Zabloudil, who earned a ninth-place medal, shooting 71-76-147. Senior Jake Richmond was T15 place with a 77-75-152, freshman Tyler Weismann earned T17 with a 78-75-183, and sophomore Jude Elgert got T21 with an 80-75-155.
The fall golf season has concluded, with both teams picking their clubs back up in the spring.
