The Concordia track and field team traveled to Pella, Iowa for the Central College Invite on Friday. The Bulldogs had five first-place finishes, three second-place finishes, and seven third-place finishes.

Starting off with the running events, freshman Adriana Rodencal won first in the women’s 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.15 and third in the women’s 200-meter dash with a time of 25.50. Rodencal’s 100-meter time set another school record. This was the fourth record Rodencal has set in her time at Concordia across two separate events. Her other record is in the indoor 60-meter hurdles.

Freshman Brianna Quinn won third in the women’s 400-meter dash with a time of 1:00.86. Junior Colton Meyer won second in the men’s 400-meter dash with a time of 48.64. Sophomore Teagan Meyer (no relation to the previous Meyer) won third in the men’s 400-meter hurdles with a time of 59.70.

Junior Rylee Haecker won second in the women’s 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:41.98. Junior Calvin Rohde won first in the men’s 5,000-meter run with a time of 14:42.28.

Moving to the field events, junior Kamryn Pokorney won third in the women’s hammer throw with a score of 50.14 meters. Freshman Matthew Boyer won first in the men’s javelin throw with a score of 55.58 meters.

Junior Kellie Rhodes won third in the women’s long jump with a score of 5.17 meters. Freshman Alivia Weathers won second in the women’s triple jump with a score of 10.62 meters.

Junior Josie Puelz won first in the women’s pole vault with a jump of 3.65 meters. Fellow junior Zach Zohner won first in the men’s pole vault with a jump of 4.90 meters. Freshmen Mayson Ostermeyer and Spencer Kearn tied for third in the men’s pole vault with jumps of 4.40 meters.

The team’s next competition is the two-day Concordia Invitational held in Seward on April 14-15.
