The Concordia Track and Field team sent a small group of runners to compete at the Frank Sevigne Invitational at The University of Nebraska-Lincoln this weekend. 21 other schools ran at the meet with teams from both the NCAA and National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics, providing tough competition for Concordia to test themselves against.

While no medals were awarded to any Bulldogs on Saturday, several runners did very well in the rankings and got within arm’s reach.

Junior Adrianna Rodencal first competed in her usual 60-meter hurdles. Taking sixth in the preliminaries with an 8.55 got her into the finals, where she got fifth place with a time of 8.53.

Rodencal ran in the 4×400-meter relay as well, racing alongside senior Trinity Tuls, senior Isabelle Salters, and sophomore Kayla Kirchner. Running a season best of 3:52.99 they were just in the middle of the pack at sixth place.

Last but not least for the women was Emily Loseke in the 200-meter dash. Loseke went slightly over her best time of 25.62 to get 26.20, which put her near the back of the group at twenty-third place.

The lone men’s race was the 4×400-meter relay with freshman Easton Fries, junior Liam Fagan, sophomore Matthew Wing, and freshman Perry Chadwick. The men fared about as well as the women’s 4×400 at 7th place of 11 teams with a time of 3:20.17, just four seconds short of the NAIA A standard time.

Concordia’s regular season finished up with this weekend of events including the Concordia Indoor Invite. The next meet takes place at Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell, S.D. for the GPAC Indoor Track and Field Championships on February 14, beginning at 1 p.m.
