Home Sports Volleyball Maintains Winning Streak in Away Game

After a long stand at home, the Concordia volleyball team hit the road on Wednesday, Sept. 7 to extend their four game winning streak. The Bulldogs traveled to Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas, and earned a 4 set victory in the process.

Concordia began with a 25-22 set win after trailing 20-18. The Bulldogs tallied 12 total kills and only 4 errors.  

The tight competition continued into set two, but this time Benedictine came up on top 25-23.

The third set needed extra points to complete. Senior Teigen Skains and freshman Alex La Plant combined for back to back kills to finish off the set 27-25. In the third set, Concordia recorded 17 kills on 50 total attacks.

Concordia carried its momentum from the third set for an easy fourth victory set 25-17.

Skains led the team with 14 total kills, and senior Paige Getz recorded 12 kills. Junior libero Jocelyn Garcia tallied 31 digs, and freshman Jenna Eller and La Plant contributed 12 and 16 digs, respectively.

Concordia is back at .500 on the season, standing at 6-6.  The Bulldogs will play a 3-match weekend at Hastings College on Friday at 7 p.m. and on Saturday at noon and 4 p.m.
