Women’s basketball celebrates senior day in style, defeats Mount Marty 75-56

Concordia women’s basketball defeated Mount Marty 75–56 on Wednesday after taking control before halftime on senior day.
Before tipoff, Concordia recognized its seniors in a pregame ceremony, honoring their contributions to the program before the Bulldogs closed out their final home regular-season game.
Concordia trailed 19–16 after the first quarter but shifted the game in the second, outscoring Mount Marty 28–15 to take a 44–34 lead into halftime. The Bulldogs continued to extend the margin in the third quarter, holding the Lancers to 10 points.
Concordia shot 42.4 percent from the field and recorded 20 assists on 28 made baskets. Defensively, the Bulldogs forced 36 turnovers, disrupting Mount Marty’s offensive rhythm throughout the contest.
Junior Juliana Jones led Concordia with 15 points, shooting 5-8 from the field and 4-5 from the free-throw line, while adding four assists.
Freshman Ayla Roth scored 12 points off the bench, and senior Kristin Vieselmeyer contributed nine points, seven rebounds, and two blocks.
Junior Sammy Leu finished with eight points, while juniors Bree Bunting and Raelyn Kelty each added five.
Concordia limited Mount Marty to 34.7 percent shooting and four made three-pointers on 22 attempts. The Bulldogs maintained control in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Lancers 13–12 to close out the game.
With the win, Concordia improved to 22–5 overall and 17–4 in the Great Plains Athletic Conference. The Bulldogs will close their regular season on the road Saturday, Feb. 21, against Hastings College.
