The Concordia women’s soccer team fought hard but fell 3-1 to Morningside University on Oct. 4, ending their 19-game undefeated streak in the Great Plains Athletic Conference.

The Bulldogs jumped out to an early lead with a goal from senior Savannah Andrews, giving the team hope for a strong start. The Bulldogs looked like adding to the lead, but were unable to find the back of the net again

Morningside, however, came out of the halftime break with three unanswered goals to take control of the match. The Bulldogs created several scoring opportunities but were unable to convert beyond their lone goal. Concordia finished the game with eight shots, while Morningside outshot them 10-8.

The 7-1-4, 2-1-2 GPAC, Bulldogs will look to rebound on the road against Hastings College on Oct. 8, aiming to regain momentum and climb back toward the top of the GPAC standings.
