The Cattle Classic was underway, and Concordia men’s basketball knew this was more than just another game, especially after an 87–76 win over Oklahoma City University.

The Bulldogs struggled to find their rhythm in the first half and trailed by one at the break. But after halftime, Concordia found its spark.

The Bulldogs began to dominate the boards, limiting the Stars’ second-chance points while securing their own.

Junior Brooks Kissinger took the game by the horns, putting up 19 in the second half to bring his total for the day up to 31.

Concordia shot an impressive 59.6 percent from the field and 40 percent from three-point range, while holding Oklahoma City to just 37.5 percent shooting. The defensive effort and rebounding turnaround proved to be the difference.

Coach Ben Limback liked their second-half urgency.

“The second half was better. I thought we had a little more urgency on the glass.”

Concordia will look to carry that momentum into its next matchup against Clarke University on Nov. 8, the final day of the Cattle Classic.
