Concordia men’s basketball dominated from start to finish in a 90–59 victory over Doane. The Bulldogs raced out to a 41–26 first-half lead and never looked back, outscoring the Tigers 49–33 in the second half to take a commanding win.
Concordia’s offense was firing on all cylinders, shooting 55.2 percent from the field and hitting 10 three-pointers. Junior Brooks Kissinger led the way with 24 points on 9-13 shooting, adding five assists and five rebounds, while junior Tate Odvody contributed 14 points and six rebounds.
Concordia’s defense was equally impressive, forcing 14 turnovers and holding Doane to just 40 percent shooting. The Bulldogs also controlled the boards, pulling down 30 rebounds while limiting second-chance opportunities for the Tigers.
Coach Ben Limback said the team expected a tough matchup but emphasized the importance of defensive intensity.
“We knew it was going to be a physical game. We always enjoy when you battle these rivals in-state, and we continue to hang our hat a lot on defense,” Limback said
With the win, Concordia extends its six-game winning streak, now 7-2 overall and 4-0 in the Great Plains Athletic Conference. They will have a short break and will host Dakota Wesleyan University on Saturday, Dec. 6
