After winning on day one of the Tabor Classic, the Concordia men’s basketball team settled for a 1-1 trip after a 75-72 loss to Wayland Baptist on Nov. 1.
The Bulldogs struggled in their perimeter shooting, with just 6-25 three-point attempts landing. They nearly made up for it with 52 percent shooting from the field but still came up just short.
Junior Brooks Kissinger returned after a preseason injury and put up 17 points off the bench in just 14 minutes of action. Kissinger was 5-6 from the field, 1-1 from three and 6-6 from the free-throw line.
Sophomore Dane Jacobsen equaled Kissinger’s points with 17 of his own. Jacobsen also added five assists and 10 rebounds.
The Bulldogs are now 1-2 on the season and look forward to the 26th annual Cattle Classic men’s basketball tournament starting on Friday, Nov. 7. Concordia will host Arizona Christian University at 4 pm on Nov. 7 and Midamerica Nazarene University on Nov. 8 at 12 p.m.
