Concordia’s Student Senate met on Tuesday for the first time this semester. Vice President Alex Vieselmeyer outlined operations of its four committees, including Community Service, Public Relations, Physical Campus and Special Concerns, which is new this year.

The Special Concerns committee deals with additional and uncategorized issues such as security and recycling, Vieselmeyer said.

President Julia Witt gave an update on the outdoor chapel project. The platform has been installed on the new site and the next steps are installing benches and electrical lines. There is a possibility of a future partnership with the Center for Liturgical Art to design a cross for the chapel.

The Student Senate meets at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesdays in the Dunklau lecture hall. Other officers this year include Treasurer Alec Johnston and Secretary Maddy Peters.
