On Wednesday night, the Bulldogs men’s basketball team defeated the Hastings Broncos 90-69 with the team effort of both the upperclassmen and underclassmen.

With this win, the Bulldogs have improved to 20-9 overall and 9-8 in conference play.

The Bulldogs shot 66.7 percent to the Broncos 45.2 percent. The Bulldogs were ahead for the entire game, but Concordia pulled away in the second half.

The win is largely due to the efforts of freshmen Tanner Shuck, Jake Hornick and Clay Reimers. Shuck scored a team high of 21 points in his 24 minutes of play. Hornick added 13 points and seven rebounds coming off of the bench. Reimers scored eight points with seven rebounds.

The current graduating class also played a big role in the team’s victory.

Senior Chandler Folkerts added a double-double, with ten points and 11 rebounds. Senior Seth Curran chalked up 14 points and three assists and senior Eli Ziegler added 10 points.

Next up, the Bulldogs will complete the regular conference season in Walz Arena versus Dordt at 4 p.m. on Saturday. It is Senior Night, where seniors Folkerts, Curran, Ziegler and Justin Damme will be honored.
