by Garrett Suchanek

Wednesday night, the Concordia men’s basketball team failed to overcome an 11-point deficit in an 87-80 loss to Hastings College in Hastings.

The Bulldogs drop to 4-1 on the year and 0-1 in GPAC.

Concordia went back and forth all night with the Broncos, but could never find the lead in the second half as Hastings pulled away late.

The Bulldogs chipped away at the Bronco lead all second half and had the game within two at the 1:55 mark. However, Hastings responded with a 9-0 run after Concordia failed to score and had to foul.

Concordia had three players score in double figures. Jamie Pearson lead the way with 26 points. Robby Thomas added 21 points and Chandler Folkerts chipped in 11 points while grabbing 10 rebounds.

The Bulldogs will look to bounce back when they take on Morningside College at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 21 in Walz Arena.
