The No. 13 Concordia Nebraska men’s basketball team extended their win streak to 12 thanks to standout shooting performances from senior Noah Schutte and sophomore Brooks Kissinger as they defeated the Waldorf Warriors 97-63 on Feb. 1.

Kissinger, who led the team with 21 points, exemplified the dominant performance with a three-point shot from the Bulldog logo as time expired to end the first half.

Concordia shot out to an early lead of 10 with just five minutes played. The Warriors could never quite get their footing as the score steadily increased in favor of the Bulldogs. The bleeding stemmed with roughly 10 minutes remaining as the margin of score stayed right around 35 for the last quarter of the game and ended at 34.

Kissinger was near-perfect on shooting throughout the day going 8-10 from the field, 2-2 from three, and 3-3 from the foul line. Schutte, Concordia’s all-time leading scorer, was 8-9 on field goals, 3-3 from beyond the arc, and 3-4 from free throws as he amassed 20 points.

Senior Tristan Smith and sophomore Jaxon Steuve also broke double digits with Smith netting 14 and Steuve at 10. Smith also led in rebounds alongside freshman Dane Jacobsen who each had five and assists alongside freshman Elijah Gaeth who each had four.

Smith moved up on the all-time scoring leaderboard during the game surpassing his own brother Gage Smith who played from 2018-2023.

Team-wise the Bulldogs shot 58.1 percent on field goal attempts, 40.9 percent on three-pointers and 76.2 percent from free throws.

The Bulldogs have a ranked matchup coming up on Feb. 8 as they have the opportunity to get the home and away sweep over No. 16 Northwestern. The Bulldogs defeated the Raiders 85-70 in Jan., back when the Raiders were ranked third in the country. The game is set to tip off at 3:45 p.m. in Orange City, Iowa.
