The Men’s basketball team placed another win under their belt beating Dordt University 82-59 on Saturday.

Senior Ryan Holt entered the starting line up again and dropped the first points of the game with a three-pointer to get the game started. Other starters were senior Sam Scarpelli, and juniors Carter Kent, Justin Wiersema, and Gage Smith.

The Bulldogs continued in the first half with an 8-0 run before Dordt laid down a set of threes and turned around the score. Dordt took the lead 9-8 early in the game. That lead by the Dordt Defenders only fueled the fire of the Bulldogs even more. With a few more threes and drives to the hoop by Kent and Wiersema, the Bulldogs went on another 8-0 run in the first half.

Wiersema hit double figures with 13 points headed into halftime. The Bulldogs took an easy lead with a score of 35-19. Dordt was 6-for-30 shooting on the floor.

Not missing a beat, the Bulldogs came back in the second half only to drill more threes. Concordia extended the lead by twenty points with under seven minutes to go in the second half. With a final score of 82-59, the Bulldogs add a sixth straight win to their record. Their overall record is now 6-1 and 3-0 in the Great Plains Athletic Conference.

Holt went 6-for-10 behind the three-point line punching in all 18 of his points. Playing hard was Wiersema with his own 18 points and eight rebounds, along with Smith who hit 16 points and nine rebounds.

The Bulldogs will travel to Doane University Monday, Nov. 30 with tipoff at 7 p.m. The Doane Tigers are currently 3-2 overall with no GPAC play thus far.
