Home Sports No. 8 Concordia Wrestling Dominates No. 11 York

The No. 8 Concordia wrestling team had no problem taking down No. 11 York College by a final score of 38-8 in Walz Arena Tuesday night.

Concordia won three of its 10 matches by decisions and won two matches by pin fall.

The Bulldogs who won by decisions were 125-pound junior Dmitri Smith, 133-pound junior Kodie Cole and 165-pound junior Tommy Bailey. Smith won 3-2, Cole won 6-4 and Bailey won 4-2.

Freshman Matt Atwood and junior Jr. Lule picked up both of Concordia’s pins on the night. Junior Ceron Francisco ended the night for the Bulldogs with a dominant performance by tech fall over Jeff Albers 18-3.

Junior Foster Bunce and freshman Travian Cooke both picked up points for the Bulldogs by virtue of forfeits.

Concordia will next hit the mats at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 14 when the Bulldogs wrestle in the Dakota Wesleyan University Open in Mitchell, South Dakota.
