Women’s soccer took on Morningside College Wednesday night for an important conference game with an unfortunate 0-1 loss.

Concordia kept the Mustangs from scoring during the first half. The ball was mainly in the Mustang’s possession. However, the tables turned in the second half with the Bulldogs outshooting the Mustangs 14 to 7. Concordia was at their throats, especially in the last fifteen minutes.

A serious Mustang injury stopped the game with two minutes to play. The ambulance escorted her away safely and the game went into overtime shorty after.

“It was an exciting end to the second half, like around fifteen minutes left. The girls kept the possession mostly and had several opportunities to score and it was close every time,” junior Kyler Hensel said.

In the second overtime, the Mustangs scored a penalty kick that led to their victory over the Bulldogs. The Bulldogs’ next game is Oct. 19 against Briar Cliff University.
