Concordia wrestling fell against rivals Doane in their dual on Friday by a score of 33-17.

The dual started with the 125 weight class, with Concordia sophomore Gabe Lujan taking on Doane sophomore Ray Ray Harris. This match was all Harris, who got the technical fall, bringing the match to 5-0 in favor of the Tigers.

The 133 weight class would come out with senior Grant Wells repping the Bulldogs and redshirt sophomore Matthew Terrence repping the Tigers. And just as before, it was all Tigers with a second tech fall, putting the Bulldogs down 10-0. Concordia jumped on the board during the 141 match as senior Steven Barnes pinned sophomore Shane Sherrill, bringing the dual score to 10-6.

Doane would quickly bounce back with a pin by senior Quentyn Frank on sophomore Cal Price. Doane senior Ben Miller would pick up another pin for the Tigers, pinning freshman Aaron Miller, bringing the match to 22-6 in favor of the Tigers.

Concordia senior Cole Price earned the major decision for the Bulldogs, defeating senior Cooper Spaulding, 22-10. The 174 weight class would be in favor of the Tigers, as junior Jake Prudek would pin sophomore Evan Sepanlou. Doane redshirt senior Tyson Beauperthuy would tech-fall senior Hunter Weimer. Senior Torrance Keehn would get a major decision for the Bulldogs, bringing the dual score to 33-14.

In the heavyweight class, Concordia Junior Gabe Kant would get a decision against freshman CJ McCutcheon with a match score of 7-0. The final dual score was 33-17 in favor of the Tigers.

Concordia will compete in the University of Nebraska at Kearney Younes Hospitality Open on November 22 and then head to Sioux City, Iowa, for the Great Plains Athletic Conference Day of Duals, where they will take on Briar Cliff and Waldorf.

Doane will next compete at the Great Plains Athletic Conference Day of Duals they will face Waldorf and Dakota Wesleyan. Concordia will have a home tri-dual on January 8 as they take on Midland University and Friends University.
