A Cappella Choir on Tour, Spring 2026

Day One: Thursday, March 5
The University A Cappella Choir departed for their tour of the west coast at 9:30 a.m. The 72 voice choir traveled across Nebraska to Cheyenne, Wyoming for their first tour concert at Our Savior Lutheran Church.
Day Two: Friday, March 6
The choir departed Cheyenne in the midst of a snowstorm for the Salt Lake City, Utah area. They had seamless travels despite the weather, arriving safely at Grace Lutheran Church in Sandy, Utah for their 7 p.m. concert.
Day Three: Saturday, March 7
The choir departed at 7 a.m. for a 10-hour drive across Utah, Nevada and California. They arrived at Faith Lutheran Church in Fair Oaks, California for their 7 p.m. concert before going home with their hosts for the night.
Day Four: Sunday, March 8
The A Cappella Choir sang for morning worship at Faith Lutheran Church before driving two hours to Livermore, California for a 4 p.m. concert at Our Savior Lutheran Church. Afterwards, about half of the choir’s hosts took them to a church member’s home for pizza and s’mores.
Day Five: Monday, March 9
The choir departed Livermore to drive to San Francisco for their free day. The group was able to spend the day exploring the city and seeing sites like the Golden Gate Bridge, the Palace of Fine Arts, Pier 39 and the Full House house. They checked in to their hotel near Fisherman’s Wharf in the early evening and were able to get dinner on their own time.
Day Six: Tuesday, March 10
The choir checked out of the hotel at 10 a.m. to go to Lodi, California. They led an assembly at St. Peter Lutheran Church for the St. Peter Lutheran grade school students at 2 p.m. They then had some free time to be outside and work on homework or relax before their concert at 7 p.m.
Day Seven: Wednesday, March 11
A Cappella had a long drive across California to arrive at Bethany Lutheran Church in Long Beach, California. The church is home to parents of A Cappella alumni Soren Widmann and Lily (Alwood) Widmann. The choir was joined by the Bethany Lutheran Church Choir for two combined pieces during the 7 p.m. concert. The church choir also opened the concert and were under the direction of Bethany music director and Concordia alumnus Noah Freeman.
Day Eight: Thursday, March 12
The choir had an early call time of 6:15 a.m. to make it to Linfield Christian School (K-12) in Temecula, California for an 8:45 a.m. assembly. They then departed for Las Vegas, Nevada. While on the bus, the choir virtually sang “Happy Birthday” to choir member Sam Matthias’ mom. The group arrived at Faith Community Lutheran Church in the evening and rehearsed with the Faith Community Choir before their 7 p.m. concert, where the two groups sang a joint piece.
Day Nine: Friday, March 13
The choir departed Las Vegas for the drive across Nevada to Grand Junction, Colorado. They arrived at the Lutheran Church and School of Messiah at 5:15 p.m. in time to rehearse and eat dinner before their 7:30 p.m. concert.
Day Ten: Saturday, March 14
The choir departed Grand Junction in the morning to drive across the Rocky Mountains to Redeemer Lutheran Church in Fort Collins, Colorado for their 4 p.m. concert.
Day Eleven: Sunday, March 15
The choir had a packed day, beginning with singing at an 8 a.m. church service at Redeemer Lutheran in Fort Collins before heading south to Ascension Lutheran Church in Littleton for a 10:30 a.m. worship service. They then had some free time at a shopping center in Denver before going to Trinity Lutheran Church in Denver for their 4 p.m. concert. The choir sang a joint piece with the Trinity Church Choir.
Day Twelve: Monday, March 16
The A Cappella Choir left Denver at 8 a.m. to return back to campus in Seward. They arrived in the early evening and returned home after unloading the bus and vans and meeting for a brief send off.
