Home Sports Baker University Sweeps Men’s and Women’s Tennis

Saturday the Concordia men’s tennis team was defeated 7-2 by the Baker University Wildcats. The Bulldogs slipped to 1-3 on the season.

Despite losing, the Bulldogs had two winning performances displayed by Concordia’s number one and two individuals. Freshman Willy Pardos filled the one spot for the Bulldogs and had an exciting match. Pardos defeated the fifth-ranked tennis player in three sets, 3-6, 7-5 and 10-4. Freshman Thomas Greeff also collected a win during singles play with a sweep of Blake Barnard 6-3 and 6-2.

On the women’s side, the Bulldogs were defeated 8-1. The women’s team now sits at 0-4 on the year.

The lone Bulldog win came from sophomore Annie Horn. Horn defeated Brooke Barnard 8-5 in singles play.

Both the men and women teams will take the court next against Ottawa University on Friday, Feb. 12 in Lincoln. First serve is set for 2 p.m.
