Returning All-American and senior Mario Ybarra made his season debut at the Younes Hospitality Open hosted by the University of Nebraska-Kearney on Nov. 20. Ybarra finished second in the 133-pound weight class.

Ybarra lost his championship match 3-1 in sudden victory overtime against Nick Krug from Air Force. On his way to the finals match, Ybarra secured victories over Gunner Smith from Fort Hays State, Taylor Vasquez from Morningside and Collin Metzgar from Colorado Mesa. Metzgar was ranked 14th in NCAA Division II.

Garcia was forced to forfeit as he had already wrestled the maximum amount of matches in a day. While at the tournament Gacia racked up five wins and one loss. That one loss is his only loss of the season as he is now 11-1.

Freshman Thomas Ivey was also in the amateur bracket at the 125-pound weight class. Ivey finished in third place as he would win his finals match via forfeit. The match prior to his finals match Ivey won in sudden victory 5-4 over Bishop Murray from the University of Nebraska-Kearney.

The Bulldogs racked up 30 wins total, nine coming from pinfalls. The open hosted 47 different teams from all sorts of levels. Next up for Concordia is a tri-dual vs Dakota Wesleyan and Morningside on Dec. 1st at 5:30 p.m. Those duals will take place in Sioux City, Iowa.
