Home News Community enjoys dinner and a movie night

by Victoria Cameron

Student Activities Council hosted dinner and a movie night to start off the school year.

The dinner portion of the night consisted of several food trucks serving foods ranging from Caribbean to hot dogs. The event also included live music and the opportunity to gather with the Seward community.

“It’s such a beautiful day that it’s hard not to be outside, and since this is a big gathering outside it’s nice,” sophomore Rosie Grothaus said.

Former SAC advisor Rehema Kavugha chose the movie, “Aladdin,” before she left and her choice was honored by the current SAC advisor, Campus Nurse Andreea Baker, as she put together Concordia’s second dinner and movie event.

“SAC, with alumni, put this event on to kind of kickstart the school year and the first week of school on an exciting note,” Baker said.

The event was attended by Concordia students and alumni, Concordia faculty and staff, their families, members of the Seward community and their dogs.

“Seeing the students and the members of the community and the faculty engaging and enjoying some time together is really special and I like to see all the students out,” Baker said.

SAC’s next event is the Back to School Bash/Dance Sept. 6 10:00 p.m.-12:00 a.m.
