Concordia’s University Concert Band will perform at 10 different churches across five states during its spring 2023 band tour, which begins on Friday.
For the past several months, the Concert Band has worked to prepare a collection of music to share with Lutheran churches in cities throughout Missouri, Illinois, Tennessee, Georgia, and Florida. Their repertoire includes songs ranging in style from Rossano Galante’s “Life Eternal” to an instrumental arrangement of Jonathan Dove’s “Ring Out, Wild Bells.”
Band members have put in a lot of hard work to prepare for the tour.
“It will be so rewarding to share something I get to hear, enjoy, and work on every week with my family and the congregations we visit,” said band member junior Kayla Kisker.
The band will visit the locations below on the days listed:
March 3: St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Concordia, Missouri
March 4: Trinity Lutheran Church, Edwardsville, Illinois
March 5: Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and School, Collinsville, Illinois
March 5: First Lutheran Church, Nashville, Tennessee
March 6: St. Paul Lutheran Church, Peachtree City, Georgia
March 7: Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Jacksonville, Florida
March 9: Zion Lutheran Church, Fort Meyers, Florida
March 10: Grace Lutheran Church, Naples, Florida
March 11: Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, Warner Robins, Georgia
March 13: Chapel of the Cross, St. Louis, Missouri
If you are unable to join the band on any of their tour stops, you can hear a combination of music from the band and other small ensembles at the group’s final concert of the year on Saturday, April 29.
Stay tuned on the Sower website for updates on the band’s activities and tour experiences from March 3-13!
