A day after winning a pair of games in walk-off fashion, the Concordia softball team cruised to a pair of wins over Peru State College. The Bulldogs swept the Bobcats by winning 7-2 and 8-1 to improve to 22-7 overall and 5-3 in GPAC.

In game one, the Bulldogs jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead after two innings and never looked back. After allowing a run in the third inning, Concordia posted another four runs in the next two innings to extend its lead to 7-2. Sophomore Autumn Owens led the offensive attack for the Bulldogs by recording three hits and scoring twice. Junior Kylie Harpst picked up the win by going 4.1 innings and allowing two earned runs.

In game two, Concordia plated one run in each of the second, third and fourth innings before exploding for a five-run fifth inning to blow the game open. Peru State scored its only run of the game in the bottom of the fifth inning. A balanced offensive performance was headed by freshmen Leah Kalkwarf and Jamie Lefebure, who each recorded a pair of hits in the game. Junior Amanda Wygant pitched a complete game in game two and allowed one earned run on eight hits.

The Bulldogs will turn around and play a doubleheader tomorrow night when they host Grace University. First pitch is set for 5 p.m.
