No. 4 Concordia volleyball will travel to Sioux City, Iowa, thanks to its dominant performance over Florida National on Nov. 22. Set scores of 25-17, 25-15 and 25-10 gave the Bulldogs the edge and punched their ticket to the final site of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Volleyball Championships.
As the NAIA’s No. 4 team, the Bulldogs got the luxury of hosting the opening round of the national tournament. Home court advantage and overall team quality helped the Bulldogs lead in nearly every category throughout the match.
The Bulldogs put on a clinic at the net as they boasted a .350 kill percentage while holding Florida National to just .010.
Junior Ella Waters was the best of the bunch on the day with six kills on just 10 attempts and no errors. Senior Ashley Keck led in total kills with 10.
Despite the match only going to three sets, the Bulldogs managed to rotate 16 players through the lineup, with 11 of them getting two or more sets.
After Thanksgiving, the Bulldogs will travel to Sioux City for pool play of the national tournament. The first game is against Great Plains Athletic Conference foes Dakota Wesleyan, whom Concordia defeated 3-0 earlier in the season. That match is scheduled for Dec. 3. It will be followed by a match against The Master’s University on Dec. 5.
